CT Scan, Computerized Tomography, or Computerized X-ray is the examination for physical abnormality by using x-ray. The ray is cross-sectionally projected through the targeted organ. Then, computer processing is used to create images. CT Scan provides a cross-sectional image of the organ for detailed diagnosis. Apart from offering 3D images, the CT Scan can also create tens of cross-sectional slices of the organ – enabling the doctors to read the abnormality of the organ with more precision and details than the general x-ray. As the traditional x-ray only creates 2D images with length and width. No image depth can be identified and only the overall image of the organ is generated. These are the limitations of general x-ray machines when comparing to computerized x-ray, in which the more advanced sensoring technologies are applied.
Benefits of CT Scan
With the ability to create images that combine tissues, bones, and vascular systems, CT Scan is essential for diagnosis. Doctors will be able to get great details of almost all body parts from head to toes. The equipment can detect cardiovascular diseases, bone diseases, traumatic injuries, and metastatic cancer.
